Taylors Garlic Lautrec Wight 1 Bulb

lt5314d_l.jpg

Considered by many to be one of the best garlic varieties Taylors Garlic Lautrec Wight produces attractive white skinned bulbs with purple-splashed pink cloves that have a smooth almost creamy flavour. They are excellent for roasting or raw in salads. Alternatively baste with olive oil roast and the flesh then becomes deliciously creamy. Type: Hardy BulbFlowering Period: May-JulHeight: 60cmGarlic is planted from bulb segments (cloves) so break up the bulb carefully into individual segments prior to planting. Make sure that the cloves are planted the right way up: the flatter basal plate should be facing downwards. Allow 15cm between individual cloves and 30cm between rows. Plant the cloves so the tips are 2.5cm below soil surface. Choose an open sunny site and well-drained soil. High humidity around the foliage and wet soils make the crop more prone to disease particularly if planted in the autumn. Garlic does not thrive on acid soils. Reduce acidity by applying lime in autumn and winter and improve the soil
